Educational grants are provided in accordance with the Guidance Document on the Promotion of FDA-Regulated Products and the Dissemination of Scientific Information, and with the FDA Guidance on Industry-Supported Scientific and Educational Activities, the ACCME Standards for Commercial Support ("ACCME Standards"), the AMA Ethical Guidelines for Gifts to Physicians from Industry ("AMA Guidelines"), the AdvaMed Code of Ethics for Interactions with Health Care Professionals ("AdvaMed Code") and/or other relevant industry standards.

Organizations eligible to request educational grants:

Note: Individual physician, group practices, medical education communication companies, journal clubs, non-academic institutions or foundations are not eligible to request or receive educational grant funding from Torax Medical.

Types of educational grants:

Accredited educational activities (Continuing Medical Education - CME and Continuing Education - CE):

Accredited educational activities are CME/CE programs accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) or other appropriate accrediting body for continuing education credits. The accrediting body has responsibility for the program, program content and issuance of continuing medical education credits. Disclosure of support is required as per ACCME policies. Types of CME/CE activities supported by Torax Medical include: conference/symposia or courses with or without labs, grand rounds programs, or development of educational materials.

Non-accredited educational activities:

Non-accredited programs provide valuable education through an eligible organization; however, HCPs do not receive continuing education credits. Types of non-accredited activities include: conference/symposia or courses with or without labs, fellowships, grand rounds programs, development of educational materials, resident education or patient education programs. The guidelines below are specific to non-accredited programs:
